A digital nomad visa is a residence permit some countries grant to people working remotely for companies or clients based outside that country. It usually requires proof of minimum income, health insurance and a clean record, and in return allows legal residence for one or several years.

It is a residence permit, not a tax exemption, although some countries pair it with a favourable regime for the first years. Before applying, check three things: the income threshold required, whether it allows working for local clients, and how it interacts with the tax residence rules of your home country.
