Applicant Tracking System

An ATS is the software companies use to receive, filter and rank applications. It parses the CV, extracts structured fields and lets recruiters discard or prioritise against defined criteria. In international remote processes, with hundreds of applicants per opening, almost nobody reaches a human without passing through one.

The myth that an ATS «auto-rejects» is overstated: in most configurations it ranks and filters rather than discarding on its own. What it genuinely does badly is read creative layouts, tables and multi-column CVs. A clean document with standard headings and the exact vocabulary of the job post is what survives the filter.
